Cast away from our kin, alone yet still surrounded,
By our numbered associates, to slave away for the surmounted.

Our time is disrespected, traded for a mild wage,
To add it all up at the end of the week so another corporation can take.

The youth barely know their parents, due to long hours of exertion.
Some will feed their need for greed, forgetting that they bore a person.

A herd of addicted puppets, chasing an endless goal.
To reach a unit of currency that others only wish to behold.

We traded our shackles for badges, we play our part in the quartet
A set of paid yet numbered pawns, Remunerated Marionettes

Obey your wealthy sovereigns, and your promotion may proceed.
You gave your life for recognition, but it was never guaranteed.

You’ll sacrifice your livelihood working well past your 40.
Shaving off your time to live just to feel an evanescent glory.

Worked until the last quarter of your not so eventful life, to sit atop maybe a hundred grand, empty family, but full of strife.

Is this the life that you desire?
Grinding for another’s empire?
To Never be your own boss?
Invariably another’s squire?

What kind of life is that really to man when you’re stressed, overworked, and unable to stand?
To slave for some other dreary fuck’s dream and give up the ones that you had?

Is that really what you want?
To live a life of Vain mediocrity?
To live in the shadows of this new age fraudulent sovereignty?

Wake up go to work, come home to waste away and your time watching television.
Sleep then repeat the cycle, for a meager restitution

Bow down to your masters, who only pay you 2 percent.
Endorse this new age slavery, there really is no difference.

This is now your life, a routine of depression.
Submerged by their indemnity, forevermore defrayed puppets.
